Not all massages are created equal — and they’re definitely not one-size-fits-all. At The Body Bar, we offer both relaxation and therapeutic massage, but they serve very different purposes.
Relaxation Massage: Soothing the Nervous System
This is the massage you book when you need to unwind. It involves long, flowing strokes with lighter pressure designed to calm your mind, ease surface-level tension, and support better sleep and stress relief.
Best for:
Stress or burnout
A good night’s sleep
A mental reset
Therapeutic Massage: Targeting Specific Concerns
This is a more focused treatment that uses deeper pressure and techniques like trigger point therapy, myofascial release, or assisted stretching. Therapeutic massage is ideal for pain relief, injury recovery, or chronic tension in specific areas.
Best for:
Neck and back pain
Limited mobility or range of motion
Recovery from workouts or injury
Which One Should You Choose?
If you’re unsure, tell us how you’re feeling. We’re happy to combine techniques or adjust the pressure to meet your needs. Some guests even alternate between both types for the best of both worlds.
