What should I expect for my first facial?
Let us know your skin care goal, then just relax and we will do our magic! We will perform skin analysis and consultation before selecting the appropriate treatment and home care regimen for you. Your skin and body may be different each visit so we may adjust your treatment plan accordingly. The end result is to give you the glowing, healthy skin. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early for your first appointment to ensure enough time to complete intake paperwork and discuss your skin goals with the therapist.
Can I get a facial while I’m pregnant?
Of course! Mama needs some love too. Pregnancy can cause some unexpected temporary skin conditions such as pigmentation and minor break outs due to hormonal changes. We will select the appropriate pregnancy safe products for all of our expecting and/or nursing mothers. Our customized facials relax your mind and body (and your little baby too!). Pregnancy-safe facials include the body bar signature facial, dermaplaning, mini facial and lymphatic drainage facial. Please let us know how far along you are when booking your appointment so we can make it as comfortable as possible for you when you arrive! This may include no aromatherapy and extra pillows for elevation and comfort.
Should I do anything before my facial appointment?
If you do not know, please take a picture of/write down your current skin care regiments for your first visit. Homecare is crucial to healthy skin and we would like to know what you are using at home in order to give full customized recommendations. We also advise all of our clients to come in with unshaved face to prevent skin sensitivity during the facial. Please also arrive to your appointment with no makeup on. If you are using a retinol or vitamin A derivative, please discontinue usage 5-7 days before your appointment.
What is a chemical peel?
Consider a peel serious skincare designed to reveal radiant skin. We have three peels, an Enzyme peel (good for even the most sensitive skin), a Glycolic Peel and a Lactic Acid Peel.
The Gylcolic Peel is perfectly balanced with Alpha Hydroxy Acid to refine the skin’s surface and visibly promote cell-turnover. Glycolic Peel treatments can be used as a one-time boost for skin in need of extra exfoliation, or in a series for serious age prevention. Using a potent combination of chemical exfoliants, it dissolves the keratinized layer, removes dead skin, and brings new healthy skin to the surface.
The Lactic Acid Peel is made with 20% Lactic Acid. This peel contains lactic acid, a milk-based ingredient that is great for hydrating and exfoliating the skin in a gentle manner. The peel also includes two superb lighteners, arbutin and kojic acid. The main goal is to lighten and brighten hyperpigmentation, reduce acne scarring, improve tone, texture and overall appearance while hydrating the skin.

Is my skin safe to get a facial?
Absolutely! We have gone through and continue to go through extensive education to ensure we are providing the highest possible quality services for each person. All of our products and treatments are safe for all skin ethnicities, tones, and conditions.
Will my skin be red or irritated after?
Everyone’s skin reacts differently but the most amazing and most common thing about receiving a facial is that you leave the spa glowing, brighter and with refined skin. However, if we are treating acne, then with extractions there could be some redness. Each treatment is tailored to each guest, so side effects will be discussed during the treatment.
How often should I get a facial?
Facial frequency depends on the condition of your skin and what your skin goals are. It could be anywhere from once a month to once a week. Also, it is CRUCIAL to maintain your at-home skin care routine. The best results come about when we work together on your skin care goals and needs. We can’t wash your face every day for you, so you must invest in your routine to nourish your skin and then let us maintain it!
Can I wear makeup after my facial?
Although it is not recommended, you can. Some people love that post facial glow and do not feel the need to but your skin will continue to glow even if you apply makeup post facial. It is not recommended to wear makeup for at least 24 hours after receiving more intense exfoliating facials, like dermaplaning, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion.

It helps eliminate toxins from the body, and it is continually renewing and protecting. To look and feel its best, your skin needs personal attention from a trained and licensed professional to help you reach your best and most loved skin.
How soon will I start seeing results from my facial?
Some people see results immediately, and your skin should feel different right away. The skin feels, clean, smooth, hydrated, and reflects a new level of health that’s visibly noticeable. If the skin has more advanced long-term needs, such as treatment of skin aging, acne or hyper-pigmentation caused by hormonal fluctuations or sun damage, results may not be immediately visible; however, skin health will continue to improve as you follow the advice of your professional skin therapist, and continue your home-care regimen.
Am I expected to tip my skin therapist?
Tips are never expected but always appreciated. If you have received exceptional service and would like to show your appreciation to the therapist, the average tip ranges between 20-25%.
